Camogie
Our camogie ladies trained in the Cork colours last week to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of Michael Collins death.

Men's Football:
The footballers started their Championship campaign last weekend against Round Towers in Greenford. It was a cagey start to the game as a whole with both side struggling to break through well marshalled defences. McCurtains were unlucky not to have a goal when Richard Ellis pounced on a loose ball but was denied by the quick acting Towers goalie. As the first half drew to a close Towers managed to hit a purple patch and pulled clear with 4 unanswered scores to lead 8 points to 2.
The second half started much the same with both defences on top, but Towers took their opportunities when they came. The Mac's got a well-deserved goal from the boot of Kev O'Donoghue to close the gap to 5 but again Round Towers rallied and chalked up the last 5 scores of the game to run out winners 1-02 to 0-15.
The footballers are out again on the 3rd September against KKG in a must win game while the Reserves playing their second round against NLS.
Hurling:
The hurlers played against Fr. Murphy's in a must win game to keep their championship hopes alive. The game started at a ferocious pace with the Macs going 1-4 to no score up. Fr. Murphy's put up a fight to come level at half time but, with a strong breeze and a massive impact from the bench the Macs coasted home to a 3-21 to 3-08 winners.
